OPEN WEEKEND
Open Studio on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July 2010
It will be open from 10am to 5pm on both days - People have asked about the work that John Doubleday did while he was away for four months. Though principal guest at the Ujjain International Arts Festival in December, he had two exhibitions and gave several lectures and demonstrations while in India. He had a remarkable opportunity of producing sculpture with the traditional bronze casters of Chhattisghar. There was also time for painting. A touring exhibition is planned to start in 2012.
The Open Studio on the weekend of 17th and 18th July is an opportunity for people to come and see the work in the relaxed context of his Studio, which is in an attractive setting overlooking the Blackwater Estuary near Maldon.
